چکیده

The milling of titanium alloys is usually associated with a high cutting temperature and severe tool wear. Therefore, flood cooling technologies have been conventionally employed to prolong the life improve quality machined surface. However, negative impact on environment waste disposal problems caused by vast quantity metalworking fluids used in process become significant. In this study, new machining method called “cold air electrostatic minimum lubrication (CAEMQL)” proposed for alloy Ti–6Al–4 V. performance CAEMQL was systematically assessed terms force, temperature, surface roughness, life, wear, chip morphology, using (MQL), (EMQL), cold (CAMQL) as benchmarks. It found that resulted improved critical heat flux steady-state transfer compared MQL, EMQL, CAMQL, which thus produced lower smaller better quality, less degree segmentation enhanced deformation under due its synergistic effect.

Analysis of Minimum Quantity Lubrication (MQL) for Different Coating Tools during Turning of TC11 Titanium Alloy

The tool coating and cooling strategy are two key factors when machining difficult-to-cut materials such as titanium alloy. In this paper, diamond coating was deposited on a commercial carbide insert as an attempt to increase the machinability of TC11 alloy during the turning process. An uncoated carbide insert and a commercial Al₂O₃/TiAlN-coated tool were also tested as a comparison. Furthermo...
